Viroc® Cement Bonded Particle Board
Viroc is a composite panel consisting of a mixture of wood particles and cement called the Cement Bonded Particle Board (CBPB). It combines the flexibility of wood with the strength and durability of cement, allowing a wide range of applications both indoors and outdoors. The production of Viroc panel complies with the specifications of EN 634 and EN 13986 standards and carries the CE Marking Certificate.
The Viroc panel has a heterogeneous appearance with different shades randomly dispersed, resulting from the natural colours of the raw materials used and the chemical reactions. Tone differences may be observed on the same face, between the faces of the same panel or between different productions batches.Viroc® is a cement bonded particle board, which, by obtaining colour pigments, obtains its unique look and feel. The main substances are pine wood fibres and cement. By combining the flexibility of wood, with the strength of cement, VIROC can be used in a wide variety of applications. Shopfitting, interior decoration, refurbishing of lofting projects, ...
Wall cladding, ceilings, furniture, tables, floors, .... check some of the projects on our website to see the different results.
VIROC boards can be used 'unsanded, which give a pure and raw look. Every board is different.
If the board is sanded, then the wood fibre appears to the surface, giving a completely different effect.
The choice is yours.
There is also a possibility to apply a protective coating, by means of polyurethane varnish, paint or oils.
By adding a semi-transparent pigmented oil, you can "pimp" your VIROC-boards, giving you an unlimited range of colours.
Non Toxic. Does not contain dangerous volatile compounds and is free of silica, asbestos and formaldehyde
Sound Insulation. It has good sound insulation properties due to its high weight. The sound insulation index varies according to board thickness. Airborne sound resistance is 31 to 37 dB, depending on the board thickness (8 and 22 mm respectively).
Weight Resistant. VIROC-panels has a bending strength that enables it to be used as a resistant structural element. It is therefore used in flooring and as roof support. The characteristic breaking strength on bending is 10.5 N/mm2 with an elasticity modulus of 6000 N/mm2.
Easy Installation. VIROC-panels can be cut, drilled and sanded.
The tools and fastening systems used for VIROC boards are similar to those used for wood panels.
Fire Retardant. Viroc prevents the spread of fire. According to the ignitability test conducted, it is classified as B-s1,d0 in accordance with EN 13501.
Insect Resistant. Viroc will not degrade through actions of living organisms such as fungi, termites, or any kind of insects.
Thermal Insulation. Viroc has good thermal resistance properties, meaning that it can function as insulation in both cold and hot temperature.
Moisture Resistant. Under the action of water, VIROC does not disaggregate.
VIROC is a panel which isimpermeable to water and also resistant to water vapour.
